Next is a 2007 sci-fi action-thriller directed by Lee Tamahori and starring Nicolas Cage, Julianne Moore, and Jessica Biel. Based on the science fiction short story "The Golden Man" by Philip K. Dick, the movie centers around a man with the ability to see a few minutes into the future and the consequences he faces when he becomes the target of both government agents and a group of terrorists.

Nicolas Cage stars as Cris Johnson, a small-time Las Vegas magician who uses his special ability to predict the outcome of events with incredible accuracy in order to win at blackjack and small-time gambling games. However, everything changes when Johnson is spotted by FBI agent Callie Ferris (Julianne Moore), who believes that he may be able to help her prevent a terrorist group from detonating a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles.

As Ferris pursues Johnson, he becomes involved with Liz Cooper (Jessica Biel), a teacher who he has been having visions of, and the two form a romantic connection. Facing increasing pressure from Ferris and the terrorists alike, Johnson must navigate his way through a series of dangerous situations while trying to avoid revealing his true abilities to anyone who might use them for their own gain.

The film's main selling point is Nicolas Cage's performance as Cris Johnson. Cage has a natural charisma that makes his character both likable and relatable, even as he is being pursued by government agents and threatened by terrorists. Additionally, his ability to see the future allows for a number of thrilling action set pieces, as he uses his precognition to avoid bullets and stay one step ahead of his enemies.

The movie also features strong performances from Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel.
