Additionally, this film touches upon themes related to class, gender and societal expectations with particular reference to women during that era of time.

Pacing and tone of this movie may at times seem slow or meandering; however, its stunning visuals and stunning performances more than make up for any slowness or monotony. Fans of Jane Austen novels or period dramas in general will certainly appreciate how closely this film captures every nuance of its time period - however even those unfamiliar with Austen can enjoy its humor, romance, and themes of self-discovery!
