The show follows Satoru, an underachieving manga artist, as he questions all he knows of life when he discovers he can travel backwards in time. Soon enough though, he realizes this ability may serve a higher purpose: saving those closest to him from danger.

Satoru embarks upon an endeavor to use his newly gained power to prevent various tragedies from unfolding, beginning with his mother being murdered when he is only young.
